A study published by the Public Library of Science determined that DNA fragments that originated with GMO foods carry genes into the human circulatory system through a mechanism that is not yet understood. One blood sample was found to have higher relative concentrations of plant DNA than human DNA. It really isn’t known what effect this will have on people, but let’s hope we don’t have to start plucking weeds out of our bodily orifices.
