A study posted in the US National Library of Medicine demonstrated that glyphosate (the “magic ingredient” in Monsanto’s Roundup) shows that it has the potential to be labeled a endocrine disruptor. In layman’s terms, that means it could play havoc with hormone levels in humans. The research concluded that glyphosate is a “xenoestrogen,” which which is a foreign estrogen that mimics the body’s natural estrogen. That can cause an increased risk of cancer, infertility, thyroid issues and other health problems.
