9. Diefenbunker, Canada’s Cold War Museum

Once a super-secret location built for Canada’s top government officials to huddle in presumed safety during a nuclear holocaust, this relic of the cold war is now open to the public. Located under a hill just outside Canada’s capital, the underground facility features all the comforts of home including an “Emergency Government Situation Center,” a radio station, living quarters, medical facilities and mess hall. Although this once-secret facility is considered a relic of the past, it’s quite likely that it has been rendered obsolete by a larger, more secure, better-equipped and more comfy facility somewhere else. After all, what every country really needs after they’ve been pummeled and scorched by nuclear war is for their politicians to survive and make arrangements for the next war just in case anyone survived the first go-round.
