Left to their own devices, tape worms can actually starve a person to death. Since they can grow to over 30 feet in length, it’s reasonable to assume that their appetite increases as they get larger. They will also use humans as their own breeding ground by producing larvae that can travel through the body to the brain where they cause serious damage. Tape worms may not be the most fearsome creatures on the list but certainly rank right up there when the gross-out factor is considered.
