7. Golf Clubs And Golf Balls

 

It’s now obvious that astronaut Alan Shephard’s brief golf game on the surface of the moon was something that he had put a bit of thought and planning into. He had to smuggle the golf club and a few golf balls aboard the Apollo 14 spacecraft by hiding them inside his space suit so he could avoid detection by NASA ground crew. The balls he hit while on the moon were probably the longest drives ever in the history of the game. Shepard reported that they flew for miles.
