8. Buzz Lightyear

 

Although probably not quite as well-known as Scotty of Star Trek fame, another figure from the big screen also had his chance to make it into space. In 2008 a “Buzz Lightyear” toy was carried into space to spend some time aboard the International Space Station. The figure remained in orbit for more than a year, and had the honor of being in a ticker tape parade along with Buzz Aldrin upon its return to earth.
