The government of Malaysia wouldn’t win any prizes for it’s tolerant stance on citizen protest. In 2011 an activist group that was known for wearing yellow shirts became a bit of a thorn in the government’s side. In response, the government banned yellow clothing. Wouldn’t it have been a simple matter for the activist group to just adopt a new favorite color?
