8. Chewing Gum

Singapore is known as a place were the rule of law and general orderliness is valued greatly. In an effort to keep the country free of unsightly blobs of chewing gum, the government banned it in 1992. Frankly, looking at some city streets in other parts of the world makes us wonder if that wasn’t a bad idea.
