Believe it or not, very different areas of the brain are involved when reading out loud or reading silently to yourself. Try reading out loud once in a while and activate those other areas of the brain that don’t see as much action as others. This is very practical for the parents of young children, since many kids love to have books read to them. You’ll not only be doing your child a favor, you will be helping yourself by boosting your brain power at the same time.
