This one was probably cooked up by someone as a prank to push the limits of the “gross out” factor. The myth states that young people were getting high by fermenting sewage in a container and then inhaling the gases that result. A public safety bulletin published by a law enforcement agency, in addition to exposure in the Washington Post and other news media organizations leant a lot of credibility to this urban myth, but it was ultimately determined to be the result of unfounded gossip.
