10. Rollercoaster Accident

Once again, clever scammers hoping to profit from a fake news stories managed to spread their phony news far and wide about an accident at Florida’s Universal Studios in which a roller coaster allegedly derailed and resulted in 16 deaths. Anyone clicking on the link in the story would be directed to a site that was set up to steal usernames and passwords so that their social media accounts could be hijacked. There never was such an accident.
