2. Supporters of Nevada Rancher Repel Government Agents

Although not a shot was fired, it was clear that supporters who gathered to support rancher Cliven Bundy were well-armed and ready to take whatever action they deemed necessary to stop the federal government. Bundy has been embroiled in a 20-year dispute with the feds whose “Bureau of Land Management” (BLM) says he owes them $1 million in “grazing fees” because his livestock graze on property claimed by the federal government – property Bundy says has been in his family since the 1800’s. Although the government appeared to be ready to take action against Bundy, as they began to take possession of his livestock, hundreds of supporters converged on the scene and made it clear they were there to face off against the government. After at least two tense standoffs between Bundy supporters and armed BLM “Rangers,” the government backed down, returned Bundy’s livestock and left the area.
