5. The Bogeyman

This is the name that is most likely to be familiar to those of us in English-speaking countries. It is thought to have originated in England and may have been an adaptation of “buggy man,” for the drivers of the carts who went around collecting corpses during the Black Plague. The bogeyman may also be portrayed as a tall, spooky man that looks a bit like a scarecrow or like this meaningless green monster we found a picture of.
